Fairgrounds Winter Storage
Storage Rules
Members of the public may store recreational vehicles, automobiles, boat trailers, and similar items in designated county buildings at the fairgrounds during winter months, subject to the rules of the committee.
All such items must be removed by April 10, 2027, and will be accepted for storage only on October 3, 2026, or October 10, 2026.
The rate charged shall be a flat rate, without adjustment for late entry, early removal, or other time spent out of storage. If an item is accepted for storage by the county, the full amount shall be due and owed to Taylor County, regardless of the actual time spent in storage.
Taylor County does not carry insurance to cover private belongings in its buildings, and every owner shall agree in writing that any loss is to be borne by him/her and that the owner shall be responsible to carry his/her own insurance.
The fee for Inside Storage shall be $12.00 per running foot for length of boats, boat trailers, automobiles, and fold-down campers. The fee for travel trailers, motor homes, and sailboats is $13.00 per running foot, measured at the vehicle’s longest point. Covered Open Shelter fee is $150.00 for the season. Outside Storage is available at $80.00 for the season. Equipment must be no higher than 8’6” for Covered Open Shelter and 12’ for Inside Storage. Interior heights of covered storage may vary. Renters are responsible for ensuring their items fit within the available height. Taylor County is not liable for any resulting damages, and renters are responsible for all costs associated with damage to County buildings or property.
There is no height limit for Outside Storage. Taylor County reserves the right to confirm the length of equipment to be stored.
The Buildings, Grounds & Parks Department is authorized to receive vehicles for storage, and the County Clerk’s office is authorized to accept the agreement and payment. The Buildings, Grounds & Parks Department is also authorized to tow any equipment or vehicle that is not removed from storage by the final pull out date at the cost of the owner. The owner will be subject to an additional fee of $5.00 a day per stored item each day after the final pull out date until said item(s) is removed. If towing is required, towing expenses will be the owner’s responsibility.
These rules were duly passed and promulgated by the Building, Grounds, & Parks Committee of the Taylor County Board of Supervisors on September 3, 1980. The most recent amendment was made on August 10, 2023.
