The Taylor County Forest is made up of 17,500 acres located in the northeast corner of Taylor County.  The forest is managed on multiple use basis providing timber production, recreation, wildlife habitat and watershed protection.  The forest provides excellent hunting, fishing, trapping, berry picking and wildlife viewing opportunities.  There are also ATV trails, Ice Age Trail, snowmobile trails, cross country ski trails, hunter walking trails and two campgrounds in the county forest.

Wood products generated from Taylor County Forest timber sales are duel certified Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) and Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®).

Timber Sales

Taylor County has two timber sale bid openings per year, typically in June and December. Postcards are sent out with a link to view the bids online.  Contact the Forestry Dept at 224 S Second St, Medford, WI 54451 or (715) 748-1486 to be added to the mailing list or for any additional information.
