NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Zoning Committee of Taylor County, Wisconsin, will consider a change of the Floodplain Zoning regulations, to enact proposed amendments to the Taylor County Code, Chapter 29 Floodplain Zoning.
The proposed regulations are intended to protect life, health and property in floodplain areas and will govern development in floodplain areas. Repealing the current ordinance and re-enacting a new Chapter 29 Floodplain Zoning ordinance and maps that are required by state and federal law. The proposed ordinance will be adopting new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) along with additional dam failure analysis for the Bill Gollon Dam (T30N-R4W, Sec. 34) and W. Meyer #3 Dam (T33N-R2E, Sec. 4).
The proposed ordinance and maps are on file in the Zoning Office of Taylor County and the documents are open to public inspection during office hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The proposed ordinance will also be posted on the Taylor County website, www.co.taylor.wi.us, for viewing.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Zoning Committee of Taylor County will hold a public hearing in the County Board Room, Taylor County Courthouse, 224 S. 2nd St. Medford, WI, on December 14, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. to hear any person wishing to express their view on the proposed floodplain zoning ordinance. Written comments may be submitted to the Zoning Department, 224 S. 2nd St., Medford, WI 54451 before the time of the public hearing.
