Car Seat Safety & Education

The Taylor County Health Department has two staff who are Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians who can provide car seat checks and education to parents, guardians, grandparents, caregivers, etc. The seat checks are FREE and take about an hour. We can complete these checks at our office or at the person’s residence.

For those in need, we can also provide a discounted car seat (one per child’s life) for $40. Individuals must receive a car seat check and education along with the seat.

Cribs For Kids

Infants need a safe place to sleep. Cribs for Kids is a safe-sleep education program for families to help reduce the risk of injury and death of infants due to unsafe sleep environments. Families who qualify for this program and complete an education program can receive a Graco Pac-N-Play for a small fee.
