Vaping

E-cigarette use, or vaping is the most commonly used tobacco product among middle and high school students in the United States (CDC). Even in Taylor County, many of our youth are using vapes. According to recent youth surveys, 20% of Medford High School students have used vapes within the last 30 days with 40% of Medford High School students ever using a vape. Not only can vapes contain tobacco and nicotine (an addictive substance), they can also contain unknown levels of THC, which is illegal to use in the state of Wisconsin.

Resources for helping young people about living tobacco and nicotine-free can be found on the Wisconsin Department of Health’s website: https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/tobacco/youth.htm

Adult quit resources can be found on the Wisconsin Department of Health’s Website: https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/tobacco/treatment.htm
