Home Safety for Seniors — Tuesday, Nov. 28 from 12-1:30PM at NTC
*Join us for this Free event*
Representatives from Emergency Management, Mid-State Independent Living, Extension Taylor County, Health Department, Commission on Aging, Human Services, and other agencies will be on hand to educate residents on home safety (both inside and out) to help folks live safely and independently in their homes.
To reduce the burden of carbon monoxide poisonings in Taylor County, each household will receive a free two pack of carbon monoxide detectors and also have a chance to win one of 4 fire extinguishers donated by ACE Co-op (Medford), Fourmans (Medford), Hardware Hank (Gilman), and Tru Value (Rib Lake). This initiative is supported by the WI Environmental Public Health Tracking Program with DHS and the Supporting Healthy Aging Coalition. A copy of the recent Star News article about the event, and the Taylor County Environmental Health Profile (CO is listed on pg 9) is attached.
