DESCRIPTION:Public Open House for Review of a\nCountywide All-Hazards Mitigation Plan\nAt the\nTaylor County Fairgrounds – Community Building\nAt the intersection of Hwy 13 & 64 \nAugust 17th\, 2026\n12:00pm to 1:00pm\nTaylor County is currently updating its countywide All-Hazards Mitigation Plan. The purpose of this All-Hazard Mitigation Plan is to (1) assist the county in identifying and reducing its risk from natural and human-caused hazards; (2) identify actions that can be taken to prevent damage to property and loss of life\, (3) and prioritize funding for mitigation efforts. This project is being funded by a grant allocated by the Wisconsin Emergency Management Agency and funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. \nThe Taylor County Emergency Management Department is holding a public open house on August 17th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at the Community Building at the Fairgrounds at the intersection of Hwy 13 & 64. The purpose of the open house is to discuss the update of the Hazard Mitigation Plan\, describe the work completed to date\, and highlight some of the hazards that could present the greatest risks to the county. DESCRIPTION:NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING\nIN THE MATTER OF STATE AND FEDERAL AID\nFOR THE IMPROVEMENTS TO \nTaylor County Airport\nW5125 Apple Ave\, Medford\, WI 54451 \nThe County of Taylor is considering petitioning the State of Wisconsin\, Department of Transportation\, for state and federal aid to undertake the following development at the Taylor County Airport: \nThe character\, extent\, and kind of improvements desired under the project are as follows: Maintain\, rehabilitate or reconstruct runway pavements; Rehabilitate/Upgrade runway lighting; Maintain\, rehabilitate or reconstruct taxiway and taxi lane pavements; Maintain\, rehabilitate or reconstruct apron pavements; Construct new terminal apron; Reconstruct ramp; Develop hangar area; Construct ease taxiway; Construct hangars; Construct terminal building; Construct fuel system; Construct maintenance shop; Update Airport Layout Plan (ALP); Acquire land in runway approaches and for airport development; Purchase snow removal equipment; Navigational aid improvements Clear runway approaches as stated in Wis. Admin. Code Trans §55\, and any necessary related work. \nNotice is hereby given that the County of Taylor will hold a public hearing at 10:00 AM on January 5\, 2026\, at the Community Center\, located at 845 E. Broadway\, Medford\, WI 54451. \nAll interested persons are invited to attend and present their views on the need for the proposed airport development. \nParking for people with disabilities and an accessible entrance are available.
